The recent multiple changes couldn't be helped owing to a dispute between Eutelsat & SES, but it has nothing to do with CS as to why they get moved

Also to dispel that great Myth $ly do not actually own any satellite in the clarke belt well not yet anyway, As above SES/Astra own the satellites and $ly like every other major TV provider around the world just lease Transponder space from SES/Eutelsat etc...

If the changes are of a major inconvenience for you then an official Subscribed $ly box is the way to go as they update automatically even in standby so Joe Public has not got the slightest inkling as to what happens with the frequent channel changes.

And to put the icing on the cake expect more when 2E has finished testing and is placed into orbit at 28.2? east anytime soon.

Another problem solver would be a Linux Enigma2 receiver with Autobouquets that will ease the pain a little

Autobouquets are also available for Enigma1 so the old dreambox 500s and Technomate 500s can update with the pressing of a couple of buttons.

It's to keep people like AJ & sattv5 on their toes!


...but I've often wondered why channels are not "rotated" on a daily basis. It would sure pee off a lot of openbox/skybox users.

Then again, perhaps $ly don't have a say in which transponders they can flip between. It may be down to just SES who decide who has what transponders.
