hi bought the f5 box with gift, but can i update it myself in future as cant get intouch with person to sort it for me also can i get apps like bbc i player or fixes for tv guides.

Quite why this is named after one of our members, i do not know. It will not draw his attention to this thread any more than the others, he helps out as best possible wherever possible. Its not his job to talk you through things from a-z and also I believe that if you named this thread in relation to your problem, others in the future could draw help from it when they used the search engine here.

As for your issue, I dont know if there is Iplayer on these but i hear new f/w has epg but not in the original OSD, instead via the menu. Grab a backup of your box, use the search engine and the sticky threads and you should be upto speed in no time.
