    Dish problem....all advice greatly appreciated!!

I`ve just bought the Skybox F3, hoping to use my sky dish that was last used about 8 years ago, the wires had been cut and I reconnected them to the Sky box using F plug connectors and cable as best I could, I did a scan, but it resulted in zilch!

Any idea`s y`all, all advice greatfully recieved!!! Cheers!!

b n q sell the meters you can plug in for a tenner, i was at my mates in leeds and needed to sort his out but forgot to take mine, so we went b&q bought one, carefully took it out the box and aligned the dish (2 minute job) then took it back shop and got a refund saying it was wrong item .

Many thanks Darc, I`ve found an app for me phone that looks promising as well, thats if it is the alignment....I`m hoping the connections I made are up too scratch as well!

I would start by installing one of the channel lists from the red sticky's because they are all set up for 28.2.
After instaling the channel list I would switch to a FTA Channel (BBC1 will do) and see if you get a picture.
If you haven't moved the dish already I would suggest you dont yet as even though it has been a number of years since you used it, the probability is that it shouldn't need realigning. If you still have no channels the first thing to check would be the cable and connections
