AJ'S Recent Channel Update

Hi All,

Can someone help?

I'm trying to update my scrambled channels but to no avail...

If someone could just verify i'm doing this right!!

I select tools_upgrade by usb_ select upgrade mode change to Misc Files_ scroll to select upgrade tick TP_PROG.dbs (sat,TP,Prog) and select upgrade less than a second it says 100%,

There is no ?flash"

When I go into info it says no TP_PROG.dbs (sat,TP,Prog) found.

Assistance gratefully appreciated.

what you are doing seems ok, is your usb formatted to FAT32 and the TP_ PROG.dbs file not in any folders on your USB?

1. [*=1]Make sure you have a USB memory stick formatted to file system Fat 32 you can find this out by inserting your USB stick into your PC/Laptop, right click on it and show Properties file system should be FAT or FAT 32 if it isnt then you need to format your USB stick.
   [*=1]Place the TP_PROG.DBS file into the main folder of a USB memory stick, it is important that you do not place this file inside any folders on the USB stick, just have it on the main page.
   [*=1]Place the USB Stick with the TP_PROG.DBS file now on it into the USB slot of your skybox, screen message will show that the usb stick is inserted.
   [*=1]In the Skybox F3/5 menu delete your current channel list by going to the MENU - "Edit Channel" tab & selecting "Delete All" then power off the box.
   [*=1]Restart box and display should show NO CH
   [*=1]Press the menu button and navigate to the "Tools" tab then "Upgrade by USB", change the upgrade mode from "IMAGE FILE" to "MISC FILES" then "SELECT & UPGRADE" & select No.1 - "TP_PROG.DBS" so that a green tick is placed at that option, now press the yellow button to begin the upgrade, if all done correctly it should begin to progress to 100%.
   [*=1]Once the upgrade has completed and you exit the menu, the box will show NO CH you must now RESTART YOUR BOX, your new channel listing is complete.

it sounds like you havent loaded the update file to your usb correctly,you need to drag and drop the update file into your usb it doesnt work if you send to or copy and paste.or using winrar etc click on the file then extract it to your usb eg external f etc

Sorry i dont want to talk about it just what it is i have been reading the open box guide on here and its listed. I understand the .bin and dbs list. :-) I will just have to look elsewhere..

Are you sure it says "found"?

I suspect it says "failed". It will either say this or "OK".

It should take around 10 seconds to install the channel list, so the fact that it only takes less than a second indicates straight away that there is a problem.

The usual problem is that the file isn't named correctly. Double check that the file is named TP_PROG.dbs.

I always use "copy & paste" without problems. As long as you make sure to overwrite the previous file of the same name (if there is one).

Bill..... Just re-reading....are you sure its the channel list you are looking for.." update my scrambled channels "... sounds like you mean something that we cant talk about on here .....AJ list is basically just a database of Station names and locations not actually unscramble info..... hope this helps
