I have no idea what its called it jusr says DVB hd on the front, it has same remote as a technomate 5302. i have no idea what software I need. Any help appreciated

Thats a clone Dreambox 500s.

Whats more its rather expensive.

Also states linux receiver so I would say the login details fo FTP are probable user "root" Password "dreambox"

While the front of the box is like the one in the link the back differs. There is no HDMI on the op's link but digicon's link shows a box with HDMI.

I have a Black Box 500 which is as you rightly state a DM500s the reason i pointed the OP towards that thread is because in his initial post quote :

The DVB HD as well as the TM remote gave it away for me as the BB500s has the standard DM500s remote
