Please Help - Skybox F3 and freesat PVR

I have a skybox F3 which I love, but it would be great to sometimes have the facility to record a certain program if I am going out so considering a freesat box so I can record stuff like match of the day etc.

Can I use these 2 boxes simultaenously by using a 2-way splitter?

    Thank you in advance.

No. You cannot split a sat signal, it must be fed from the dish.

Thank you VERY much! Will the seperate lead that runs from dish to freesat box have to be a special type if im considering a HD freesat box?
Also, a family member has a very old dish and currently only uses it for standard sky (10 years or so), would this cause a problem if they want to use this dish for a skybo F3 HD box and also freesat bo perhaps simultaneously...

The lead from the freesat box will be ok.

As long as the dish is pointing at the right satellite.

Have you never considered plugging in a USB hard drive or memory stick?
