SkyBox F5 Connectivity Issues - All Tried Out....

Hi - I have been using a SkyBox F5 for a while now and not had too many issues. I have recently moved house and got a new connection. The SkyBox did reboot loop about 5-6 times but has now settled down. The FTA channels are all working fine. My issue is with the LAN connectivity. I have a new broadband provider and have the SkyBox hardwired in via CAT5 into the router, but do not seem to be getting connectivity...I have read around the forums and tried the following:

    1. Fully 240v reset the box and router.
    2. checked DHCP on, also tried turning on and off and programming a static IP.
    3. Tested the router port and Cat5 cable with another device.
    4. Attempted to run YouTube app. It loads some text (possibly cached) but egg timers when I try to load a video.

The only other info I have is that the back of the skybox on the NIC interface is green and orange on each side, the router just has one orange light. all other conectviity is working via this router.

I just wanted to know if there were any other bits of advice before attempting a factory reset (Scary!). If the advice is to factory reset or Flash (I assume different is whether firmware is removed or not) can you please confirm this is correct procedure:

    Factory Reset
Dump Channel list along with any other 'important' files to USB
    Check USB contents on PC.
click factory reset through menu interface - do not select options
reload files from USB if required.

    Thanks for any advice.

Ok just to add, I have tried the factory reset and no change, the box still appears to have no connectivity (orange light, YouTube etc not working)....Could it be to do with any other settings from my router/ISP if the internet is working fine on other devices?

Went to same place last Friday to put one in same then, took the box which wouldn't work there to another buyers house worked fine just pluged in and away you go! The owner of the place is ordering a different Internet connection for upstairs from different supplier. Hope this works!

Yasminandrio - thanks for the advice, although that wouldn't be great as I only got my connection today and it wasn't cheap!!! If that is the case it would be something to do with the ISP settings, which confuses the hell out of me. I have tried setting my own DNS / IP etc on the box and this did not change anything. I have had some success, the box is now showing as a connection on the router, responding to internal pings, and youtube is showing new searches.........that said it will not actually play any video. Strange?! If it helps I am not in the UK?

what broadband are you using ? as when I got bt infinity 2 everytime you set a new dive on it you have to go into the setting and except it on the smart set up, its easyer just turning that smart set up off then everything will work straight away on it

Micky - what do you mean about setting a new Dive? I have a limited software interface on the cable modem/router that I am using. I am looking for some kind of tester to see if the connection works with this kind of traffic through my laptop, if it does not it would suggest an ISP issue (or server issue), if it does it would suggest a box issue.

If it is indeed an ISP issue is anyone familiar with a way of using a VPN on the skybox or would I need an upmarket box - suggestions?

I had a Skybox F5 that was temperamental when ever it was moved to a different internet connection it refused to connect to anything, the only solution I found was to flash to a really old firmware to the box, this then allowed me to set the box up how I wanted.
after that I would just flash the latest firmware and It retained certain settings
If you want to flash an old firmware to see, I have uploaded a suitable one below:
                Attached Files
