    Openbox s10 hd

Hi, can somebody please help me? My box was running fine, then it started going scrambled more than it was running. I plugged in another box to try it, it worked perfectly. I then decided to try reflashing the image, thinking I have it backed up. I never backed it up or can't find it, the images I have tried all have the menu along the top where my one had the menu up the left hand side. Does anybody know which image that would be I had? Also after flashing with the other images when I do a single satellite scan all the channels say fail while scanning, is there any way to know if my tuner has gone faulty or am I doing something wrong? thank you

vertical menu was the s9 firmware.
    horizontal menu was s10 firmware.
s10 will run s9 firmware, but not vice versa.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me. All the images I have tried all say openbox s10, I know before when I last installed the image it also said it was a s10 image. Does anybody have an image they use that has the menu up the side they could send me? Thanks

firmware that old usually has flaws that keep people from using it nowadays.
are you sure you really have an s10?

Perhaps something is not set up right in the firmwares that you have tried.

In the installation menu, check that LNB power is ON.
Check that, in Antenna Setup for 28.2e, LNB Freq = Universal (9750-10600), & that both DiSEqCs = disable, & Motor Type = OFF.

The easiest way to set up your channels & satellite details, is by installing a channel list from AJ or sattv5. Not only will it install a channel list, but will set up the correct parameters to scan other satellites.

Even if you found your original firmware, I suspect you would still have scanning problems. Did your original image show 1 column of channels when you pressed the OK button, or 3?

Thanks for the reply's. Slugworth it is a openbox s10 hd pvr. When I came down this morning the channels were on, which is very strange as when I went to bed it just said no channel. Hadron I had installed AJ's list, if I am right you need to add them or it won't perform a scan. If I pressed ok it came up with one list and I moved left or right to change the group, now it has a channel list with three rows which I don't like . The image i had used give me no problems really till last night, I guess I will just need to keep reflashing the image till I find one with the menu on he left.
            Thnk you.

the original s10 firmware was actually s9 firmware until s10 got it's own.
s10 firmware that had the vertical menu was prior to june 2011 I believe.
That may be to old as previously mentioned to be any good.
It always better just to scan your own channel list.

Thanks for that, I searched around and opted for the most up to date one on there website. Is there any way to change the channel list to the way I had it? it seems a pain having to press red button then have to pick you group. Like I said with the one I had you just moved left and right for the groups and up and down to pick channel. Thank you

Thanks DW, that is where I have been getting the images to try. I have tried a few more and a few s9 ones, I still can't find the one with the single row of channels they are all in threes.

Here are the early S9 firmwares. If you have had the three rows and want the single you need to Factory Reset the box after putting the firmware on. Dont put any channel list on, just scan.

openbox firmware is full firmware,so there is no need to do a factory reset since everything in flash gets overwritten.

that was pre 0ct 24 2011 firmware which also had the preview screen in the channel edit mode.

Surely the 1 or 3 column channel list is part of the firmware. Factory resetting the box won't change that.

Providing you have set up the correct parameters for the satellite, there is no need to install a channel list before scanning.
