I tested the update. Works fine. But I encountered the same problem: every time I want to sort the channel list by alphabet, it stays as long as I don't enter the menu, power off or press again the middle button. Strange...

By the way bigade1, aren't you afraid of overheating problems like the ones present on Azbox Bravissimo?

can anyone tell me skybox 5Fs which version of cccam is running and is it possible that one can download cccam 2 1 4 version on that.

The same thing happens on my box when I sort channels by alphabet and as regards the overheating issues - I must admit that I only use my box as a second box for certain sport programmes or films so it isn't in use for prolonged periods of time and maybe that is possibly why I do not encounter any overheating/freezing issues. The box adequately suits my purpose for the time being but I might consider in the future using that box in a bedroom and upgrading to a decent twin tuner box as my main source of viewing.

I usually use the files from Download / Software_Shenzhen Yojia Technology Co., Ltd.

I would wait until that site lists the download. It's a possibility that your box is a " clone " as that site is known to provide software for other clone boxes.

SW Verdict

A new software has been released for the F5S and F3S dated the 21-11-2013. Release notes state that it is a fix for Youtube and Youp*rn playback bugs as well as an EPG auto update bug. The official Skybox download is attached here:

No, just the S version. I too am waiting for a F3 firmware upgrade as my youp*** has stopped working.
Working fine on the F3S downstairs though.

I rechecked my original post and the download works ok but because you're having trouble here is a direct link to the official Skybox download:

Bear in mind that the official link and my original download comes as a .rar file not a .zip file and you will need a programme on your pc that can unpack .rar files e.g. Winrar. If it's the actual download that's causing you problems then I would try downloading it using a different browser.

My first post has now been edited to also include the Yojiatech software download just in case anyone gets a " file mismatch " error when they update using the official Skybox software download.

Hi, I have a strange problem. I updated the firmware on my F3S to the latest version from the skybox . cc website (21st Nov file). The update process went fine, no errors. Went the machine rebooted, the picture etc was working fine, but I can't get see the channel info bar? Likewise, when i go into menu, all I can see is the background logo, no menu's as such so can't even navigate to try and upload a previous firmware version.

Anybody came across this before? Or any suggestions?

If it was me, but at your own risk, I would try reinstalling the new firmware again. If that failed again, then maybe I would try installing the Yojiatech firmware and if that one failed I would then reinstall a backup of my original firmware. Seeming as you can't see the menus etc., I would use the Skybox LAN Tool to install the firmware which is available from the official Skybox.cc website. As long as the box is up and running and connected to your network you don't really need to see what the box is displaying. However, you will need the ip address of your skybox to log in to the tool settings and this can be found by entering your router settings. If you don't know how to enter your router settings then Google it as every router is different. The other thing that must be done when using the LAN tool is to rename each firmware version you use to image.abs as otherwise the tool does not recognise it.
