Skybox F5 channel update issue- all channels vanished

This morning I updated to the latest AJSat .dbs list (which I have done a few times before) only for the Skybox not to actually restart as it normally does and I'm just presented with this screen (see below)

    IMG_2990.jpg

All my freeview and premium channels seem to be lost. I don't know if I've done something unknowinglyby accident or if there's an issue with the box itself. It might be pretty simple to fix (I hope so!) I'm a bit of a newby and I'm concerned that if I mess further with it i'll lose my premium channels too. I tried re-installing the previous .dbs file that I had but nothing has changed.

Anyone able to help me with this? It'd be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Not sure what channel list you now have on your box as "Channel line-up" doesn't appear on my latest AJ list. You would get that channel if you did your own blind or accurate scan.

What channel do you get in position 1? Is it BBC1 HD?

You could try deleting your current channels before trying AJ latest list again. If the box doesn't automatically restart (I know my old S10 doesn't but not sure about F5's), then put it into standby & then back to ON again to see the new channel list.

I'm a bit confused when you say that you're concerned about messing with it further in case you lose your premium channels, as you have already said that you have lost them?

Start the process again...erase/delete your channels ... i assume you've rebooted the box since uploading the list.
The previous .dbs file...when was it from.
If no luck try Sattv5's list as a tester to see if the box is OK

Sorry if I've confused you. This morning I updated my box using the USB stick using AJ's list as I have done a few times before. Once it had 'finished' it just came up with the screen pictured and I couldn't seem to find any of my channels at all- even the free view ones. I tried restarting it and it stayed the same. I also tried re-installing the previous version of the .dbs file that did work and the result was the same.

I know there are elements that we are not allowed to discuss regarding 'gifts.' What I meant was that I am a complete noob when it comes to things like this and I don't want to mess about and lose my gift. If it isn't lost already!

I'm wondering if this is a channel list issue, or a wider issue with the box. I was hoping that one of you guys could help me out with some suggestions?

        Thanks in advance

I'm still not sure what you mean when you say that you can't find any of your channels. Are you saying that it is stuck on that 1 channel? What happens when you press the OK button? Does it show a list of channels? What happens when you press 1 on the remote/ Do you get BBC1 HD?

I'm at work right now so I don't have the information in front of me, but when you pressed the 'OK button' it came up with a list of what looked like radio stations and nothing else. Certainly none of the usual channels that are listed on AJ's channel list. When I pressed the red button and brought up 'favorites' it was blank.

I guess what I would like to know primarily is if my box is broken or if there was anything I could have done whilst updating the .dbs file (aside from unplugging the power- which didn't happen) that would cause damage? Is there an idiots guide to basically starting from scratch in terms of removing the current channel information, then re-installing the latest AJ channel list without removing any gift based data? Why would a channel list NOT install?

Sounds like he only needs to press the TV/RADIO button on his remote control as has been pointed out to a couple of others on the forum.

I hope it isn't something daft like that. I'll check it when I get home...

Lol - I think it might be. A couple of other people have previously reported that when they updated their channel list recently - they have ended up having radio stations displaying on their channel list. A simple press of the TV/RADIO button and your TV channels are displayed back. I hope your issue is as simple as that.

If it was on radio though why is it saying 'invalid programme' on that screenshot- surely I would have heard it playing. I hope it isn't that. I'd feel a right plum....

I just checked Channel 65 as in your screenshot and there is no audio playing on it - as for the " Invalid Program, Search Again! " message - maybe a glitch or accidentally pressing the number keys on your remote several times and selecting a channel out of the radio channel range? Give a try of the TV/RADIO button when you get home and see if it solves your issue.

Bigade1 is right, you just need to push the tv/radio button. Sometimes the invalid programme will appear if the station is not tranmitting no information e.g. Disney Movies does the same thing of a Night when it goes of air

Update: The invalid programme is because the channel has moved frequency on the 18/11/2013

Ahhh...if only you had mentioned that earlier LOL.

As bigade1 & sattv5 have pointed out, it is certainly just a matter of pressing the TV/Radio button on the remote.

It never occured to me that "Channel line-up" was a radio station. I never tune in to the radio stations on my box.
