    USB Problem

Sorry if this has been posted before but I've trawled through about 20 pages for the last hour.

I've gone to install a new channel list but when I put my usb stick in the back of my F5s, the upgrade by USB option is blanked out. The memory stick is a 128mb one and is formatted to fat32.

I've also had trouble getting a usb wifi adapter working. All things are pointing to a faulty usb port of my box, but the usb stick lights up so there is power there. I just can't get it to recognise the device.

Are there any settings that I need to enable or am I doing something stupid. The box currently has an ethernet connection. Is there a way I can update via that if the usb does fail?

    Cheers.

Same thing happened me. I had a 128mb stick which worked fine on my laptop and other stuff but not skybox, flashed up as working but wouldn't show up in menu. New memory stick solved it. I got an 8gb one. So I assume these boxes probably require a faster USB stick

sorry for the lack of reply. The wifi dongle was just a cheap one I got off ebay. I managed to get another usb stick working to update the channels so I'm assuming it must be an issue with the items I'm using.

Its all sorted now anyway so Thanks for the reply's.

you can always update the channel list etc using the lan tool. log into your box from a pc within the same ip.

glad you sorted it now though
If it isn't broke, don't try fixin it..!!!
