    Firmware

    Hi Guys

    I am trying to get the latest firmware, from this sit,e onto a mates skybox F5 so the setup is the same as mine.

    It is a skybox F5 not a clone (as far as I can tell. I would'nt know how) Came in same box same colour etc but not from the same dealer due to him hiking his prices by a ton!

    In the info panel all setting on his box are the same as mine except software version which shows an earlier date to the one I have and am trying to put on his box.

    Every time I try to flash it it comes up mismatch.

    Any ideas.

      Normally means it the wrong one mate make sure ur using f3 f5 firmware and not f3s f5s

          that normally means your box is a clone are your using the wrong file. Are you sure they are both f5 and one is not a f5s

              F5 Skybox.
              Had confirmation from retailer . Not a clone.
              My mates out until later.
              I'll try the F5s abs when he gets back.

              Also been given alink to firmware by the retailer so will check that out later as well.

              Very confusing as I can only get some channels on the box and not others.
              Some with sound & no picture.

              Will report back later

                  im kind of in a similar situation guys, had the cable route for years with kv a780 and finally decided to get myself a f5 box, got it working fine and even watching the boxing, however certain channels like bt sports, prem sports, espn and some music channels have no signal by them. i have put the latest channel listings into the box, hence how able to watch boxing but those certain cluster of channels still have no signal? any ideas, am i maybe missing the latest firmware or somthing? any help appreciated guys

                      The F5S software will not work on a F5 box as they are 2 different boxes with different hardware - it will give a file mismatch.

                      The latest official software for the F5 box is from here:

                      SkyBox | SkyBox

                      If that doesn't work, I would suggest that despite what your dealer states, it must be a clone and the following 2 sites are known to host software for those boxes. Whichever one works - try them both - then I would use that site for future updates.
