you recomend any passwrd crackers, also how do I get this onto the box and get the server password?
could do with all the info or any links you have.

Been away since dbox2 went offline, so just getting back into all this. need a refresher course ;-)

Sorry, thought it was a password on your computer. If its on the box try the usual 1111 0000 8888 1234

don't forget 6666

use dcc { dreambox control centre }

user root pass dreambox

you can change pass by using telnet putting in passwd then enter will ask for new pass then confirm

Do you mean a Dreambox 500C?

Are you trying to FTP into the box?

If so, I think the user name is root and password is dreambox.

sorry fellers its a blackbox 500s, copy of dreambox. The password thats in asterixs in network settings, server? for the thing we dont discuss on here. Also the password to dial into the box.

When you say "password to dial into the box" do you mean by FTP? If so the user name & password are as posted above (root & dreambox).

The password that's in asterisks...is that something that you are seeing from one of the menus on the box itself? If so, what image are you using?

I use openpli myself & don't remember seeing any passwords.

It looks like whoever had it before or supplied it has put a password on. If thats the case just use Dreamup and flash a new image on.

When you flash it use an image which has auto bouquets. You will not be dissapointed.

any suggestions for image, as I said been away for awhile and just refreshing.

Its a BlackBox 500s, so do I need a clone friendly image?
