SKYBOX F5 EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE 3TB

Hello can anyone help me please, i have had my skybox f5 now for a couple of months and yesterday i bought an external hard drive a seagate expasion 3 TB, it's plugged in to the f5 box but is only showing up as this.
    VOLUME UDA1
    TOTAL SIZE 746.50 G byte
    FREE SIZE 746.32 G byte
    REC SIZE 746.21 G byte
    FILE SYSTEM NTFS

why is it only showing up as a smaller hard drive than the 3 TB ?
i am new to anything technical like this but i have been trying to search the internet , message boards, forums, to try understand and learn but cannot find an answer, any detailed help or advice is appreciated. thanks.

You need to Format it in FAT32, Windows won't do this, I used the below program
Partitioning tool For home MiniAide Fat32 Formatter Home | MiniAide

Hi yes i think it might be to big, i tried to partition and format with the link aletank provided but as it starts and reboots my laptop it just seems to freeze the laptop on reboot . i left it 20 mins and even tried re formatting 4 times but with the same results. thanks anyway

You should be able to format it though - maybe try another Fat32 format program, just google fat32 format program or I'm sure someone else here can recommend a alternative program.

ok thank you i was trying another program, i managed to convert to fat 32 but the hard drive isn't showing up when i plug it back into the f5 box despite rebooting both the f5 and the hard drive, i'll keep trying to figure out why.
if i plug the hard drive into laptop it does say FILE SYSTEM FAT 32 FREE SPACE 2.72 TB so i have no idea what to do now.. ty

i think once you've formatted to fat32 you have to create a simple partition then it should show up as a drive.
