    Help needed .

    I have been asked by my Landlord if a new tenant can share our sky dish as she does not want too many dishes on the side of her property. Now I would not normally have a problem with this request but having recently bought and set up a skybox f5s and am currently getting excellent quality. Would I lose some quality of reception if I went along and agreed to her request. Also would sky then be made aware that I am using equipment other than official sky . Sorry for being so ignorant if it appears to others to be so blatantly obvious.But I am not techie minded. Thanks in advance of any repies. kooch

      If your using your f5s for receiving "What can`t be talked about here" then i would just say no.

          If you have a twin or quad lnb it shouldn't be a problem and as each lnb output is isolated from the next you should have no quality loss.
          Without getting into your home/flat/apartment etc its hard to prove anything but just incase leave your F5s off or on a free to air channel when the other tennant is getting setup....lots of people have Freesat systems these days

                  Do you know for certain that the other tenant is getting an official Sky box? Or could it be that they are getting Freesat or some kind of "other" sat box?

                  Sometimes channels are lost when more than 1 box is connected to the same LNB. You might need a "no signal fix" from Ebay if this happens.

                  I have read many heated debates about the safety of sharing an LNB with a neighbour, due to the different mains phase. A lot of people say that an electrician should be consulted & that extra earthing should be added to the LNB.

                  Also be aware that you may want to use those extra LNB connectors yourself in the future.
