F3 Media Player Aspect Ratio Problems

hi all' has anyone ever used the media player on the f3/f5s to play mkv 720p/1080p hd files' the correct aspect ratio is way out on every file i try' it seems stretched (long heads) even on xvid' the box aspect ratio setting is set to auto and my tv is also set at auto too. anyone figured it out let us know i have tried all sorts.thanks

Thats probably because the groups that make the MKV's or XVIDS use a non standard encode of the original source say something like 1920 x 768 and 1280 x 576 instead of the standard 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720.

It saves having to encode the Black borders on most movies

thanks digicon yeh i understand now that's why then' because if i play a ripped dvd/joined VOBs from hdd it plays perfect with correct ratio 16:9 with borders. i have got a 1280x720 mkv i will try that and see if it displays correctly thanks mate cheers.
