    • 1 .. Make sure you use a clean USB Stick [with no files or folders on it]

2 .. Create a new folder on the USB Stick and name the folder x5 [you can name the folder anything you wish]

      3 .. Now place a copy of KD_P9000E_HD.bin in the x5 folder
[You do not even need a folder for this to work, you can just transfer the files to the USB Stick, just make sure there are no other files on the USB Stick]

4 .. Make sure the receiver is Powered OFF

5 .. insert the USB Stick into the front USB port on the receiver

6 .. Now you can turn the receivers Power ON

7 .. Quickly press any button on the front panel [I find it easier to press the Power button]
keep pressing the button until you see LOAd shown on the front panel, then you can release the button.

8 .. This should then fix basic problems regarding booting up, as the OpenBox X5 will be booted from the USB.

9 .. Once the OpenBox X5 has booted up correctly, but you still find the problem persists, then you should perform the following:
Menu -> System Setup click S/W Upgrade click Upgrade By Network or Upgrade By USB

sorry for being a total noob i cannot get this to work, when you say keep pressing do you mean holding the button in/down or literaly pressing and releasing quickly until you see the load on the lcd display. how long should it take to display the load??

          Thanks for your patience
