Daft blonde needs help!

Hey,
had an f5s box for couple of weeks. Got it set up and working but the lack of bouquets for channels is driving me nuts. Tried using a file via USB to update but it only results in deleting all the channels. Tried deleting them first too. Currently on an hour long scan to retrieve the channels. Any help appreciated.
Ps I don't really know what I'm doing so keep it simple please 😁

Something wrong if a scan takes an hour...all the stuff you need for channels is in the red stickies at the start of the forum...either AJ's or Sattv5's will do.

As genam says, something is not right if it's taking that long.

Make sure that you are doing a "single satellite search", & set scan mode to "Accurate Scan". It should take around 5 minutes.
