I am trying to share my laptops wireless connection to my box using an Ethernet cable, is this possible?

Ive googled it and tried to bridge conections, but nthings happening on the box and lan connection still says "network cable unplugged"?

Anyone help me out?

Cheers,

Ste.

How have you bridged the connection?
Have your laptop connected to wifi with ethernet from laptop to box.
Go to control panel, adapter settings, right click wifi connection hit properties at the bottom, go to sharing tab and tick the box "allow other network users to connect via this connection".
I take it you have done this?
It is possible, although this type of connection could lead to freezing depending on the strength of your wifi, etc.

Go into Network & Sharing Centre (Click on Wireless Meter)
Change Adaptor Settings
Right Click on your Wireless Connection
Click on Properties
Click on Sharing
Tick the box "Share this Computers Internet"

The following is copied from the Help Tag

Enabling ICS

To enable ICS, on your host computer:
• Click to open Network Connections.
• Right-click the connection that you want to share, and then click Properties. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
• Click the Sharing tab, and then select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection check box.
Notes

• The Sharing tab won't be available if you have only one network connection.

• You can choose whether to select the Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection check box.

• Optionally, to allow other network users to use services running on your network, click Settings, and then select the services you want to allow.

When you enable ICS, your local area network (LAN) connection gets a new static IP address and configuration, so you'll need to reestablish any TCP/IP connections between your host computer and the other network computers.
To test your network and Internet connection, see if you can share files between computers and make sure each computer can reach a website.

Configure TCP/IP

To use ICS, make sure the local area network (LAN) connection on each network computer is configured to get an IP address automatically. To do this:

The Internet options on your network computers should also be configured for ICS. For more information, see Change Internet settings for ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).
Don't use ICS on a network with domain controllers, DNS servers, gateways, or DHCP servers. And don't use ICS on systems configured for static IP addresses.

Silly question but is the F5S set to "Ethernet"?

Have you tried disabling and enabling the lan connection.

don't use the wifi option as it removes the chance to use the new EPG 7 day since it needs the USB port for a Hard Drive / pen drive.
Use homeplugs or a wifi repeater then a lan cable to the box.

Wouldn't work with your setup as requires access to one of the routers ethernet ports.
Your only option is either look into a wifi dongle for your box or try and get your laptop situation sorted

No it will now work as whats been said you need an ethernet port from the router.

Try a wifi repeater. They have an ethernet port.
