Openbox vs skybox?

Which is better???

Never really shopped round when i got my skybox, just snapped it up when i seen it was only ?50!

However just been looking at other boxes around the same price and the openbox x5 has 2 usb slots which is alot better, and the listing im looking at says it has higher specs than the skybox too!

hahaha are they bad?? they look really nice. whats the problems with them? looks like they got a better cpu, ram etc wouldnt that make them a better box no?

Judging by the posts on here skybox does seem to be more popular, probly the reason i jumped at it. But tha x5 pro looks well better to me! but as a newbie im not to sure haha

i must agree with DW once again....anything you buy starting with open or F-box...you pay you cash & take your chance...with fingers crossed
they are a cheap little box & do the job they where intended to do...for the amount of time they last
this could be 1 month 3 month's 12 month's before they go BANG...but hey cheap tv....everyone think's....then the headache start's....

Just check the post's in the openbox/$kybox section ....this will give you a clue.......F5 dead F5s dead x5 dead & so on...

some people are lucky with the boxes they buy ....some are not....again pay the cash & take a chance....RED or BLACK comes to mind

But then moved on from the darkside & bought A REAL BOX VU+ solo 2....7 months Headache free

If you want a good box just check the post's in the General Satellite TV all the answers you need are in there

I wouldn't say you were lucky with F3.

Out of over a ton that I know of only two had main board problems. For Honk Konk Tiawang go Wong thats not bad going.

I have a BM 7000s and the pic quality is crap compared to the F3 & F4.

F4 I have has gone dim on the front lcd and cant get one anywhere but everything else works fine with hd pic quality 100% better than stuff tha pays near 100 a month for.

Now if I were rich like you I would have a Freesat VU + Duo 2 like you.

The X5 isn't as well supported as other Openboxes/Skyboxes.

For a start, you cannot use AJ's or sattv5's channel lists on them, as the X5 uses a .bin file for it's channel list, rather than a .dbs file.

newbie...... had my f3 7 months running was my first box as was not sure would work at all from what people had said about these boxes i used to have a eurovox when i had cable and never knew you could get summut like that for a dish in 5 months i will be spending more and will be buying a vu solo or pay that bit more and get a duo and say goodbye to the f boxs was cheap but you get what you pay for
