    Quick question about f5

    Hi all

Iam getting a f5 box this tuesday, i have a sky dish on the wall with the wires going into the bedrooms as well as the main room. So my question is can i plug my f5 box in the main room and take my hd box upstairs and have them both running off the same dish ?

sorry if its a stupid question.

Sky HD box may need reconfigured for a single LNB input if theres only 1 cable...unless it only ever had 1 cable when used before.

Just be aware that if by the HD box you mean an Official $ly receiver then be wary that you may invoke the 'No Signal Fix' from having both plugged into the main dish

Yea ive heard about this that's why i asked so that's caused by having ya official one plugged in. Thnx i shall read more into it then.

What is this no signal fix? i have my F5 plugged in using 1 line from the LNB,and the other line from the same dish plugged into the sky HD box, not had any issues

I wouldn't worry about it, it happens on some boxes when both official sky box and a skybox f5 say or any unofficial skybox is pluged in at same time its only happened to me twice in probably 40-50. And I just put the official one on standby. And both I've just put a zone 2 dish on and new lnb and problem sorted maybe long way round it with new dish but cheap enough

Thnx for the replys guys. Another quick question, Ive got the dish on the front of my house facing the normal way but i was wanting to piss about with east and stuff but the way my house faces i cant get a motor dish it wouldn't turn the right way. So can i just stick a dish on the back of my house and link em both to one box ?

                  tia

You can fit a Motorised Dish to any house without a south facing wall, South Facing just makes the Install easier.

Yes you can link the 2 dishes up you will need a 2/1 Diseqc switch for this to work
