Sky box m5

Hi guys i have just purchased the new sky-box m5 due next week i have a few questions

will aj's .abs channel list go on it (i have looked about and doesn't seem to be much info on the box at all
any general comments about the box or tips appreciated

If it takes the .abs settings file then there wont be a problem if its based on the same system as the X5's then you cant use the channel lists

I think you mean .dbs.

.abs is the firmware format.

Get a backup of the image file "Dump to USB" and check the . extension

Hi guys so i have just updated the box via usb added aj's channel list added my line and all was going well, until i tried to connect to WiFi i have tried everything i can think of and im kinda screwed as m5 has no ethernet port

i have triple checked the code is correct just get a time out message tried rebooting internet etc and factory reset box and both fw that are out for the box

If its timing out first check the dhcp is on.

If your it is up to scratch to use a static ip then you have that choice as well.

Thanks for your reply iu have tried that and still get same time out error i have reflashed latest firm ware and still i get the time out have moved to static ip and no luck any help would be appreciated

Hi mate did u get any luck with it i have same issue disabled wireless security then it worked but remote control wont work while im connected to it

change the router setting to WPA2 and that should connect you up.
