Skybox f3 set stb memory error click back to try again.

Hi over the past 6 months i have reflashed quite a few f3 boxes!

    So my config is good.

Every now and again i get this error "Skybox f3 set stb memory error" the initial connect done always appears then i get this error!

Does anyone know what this specific error means?

and what i can do to rectify this problem?

    Thanks Dave.

With the F3 I've had this on only two units, repeated stb memory error. Nearly all others flashed first time with only a couple requiring a second attempt.

The two that wouldn't flash had their mainboards replaced.

The two boards I got were sent free from the supplier of the faulty units. (China). They were tucked in to my next order from them.

I wouldn't put too much faith in the wording of that error.

I have also come across a few boxes that refused to flash (1 each of S11, M3, F3, F5).

I just put it down to a "general fault" on the main board.

I checked the power supplies & main boards for obvious faults (like fried components), but saw nothing obvious, so didn't waste any more time on them.

usually means you are turning the receiver on too fast or the receiver was already on when you hit next in the loader.

In my case, I tried many, many times, leaving the box for varying amounts of time, but still no good.

Like sailsy, I have successfully flashed many other openboxes/skyboxes, so my setup is OK.

Like any electronic gear, sometimes the electronics can simply fail for no apparent reason.

I assume you are using the correct eromclient.abs file for that model.

I presume so I use one for f3 and for s10 s11 I use another?

                    Any more input welcome thanls.

each model had it's own eromclient.abs file
the one for f3 was 40,568 size
it think the sdram.ini file was different also.

Yeah that makes sense so the one I use for the f3 should work on all f3 then? Or these two specific one's where I get the stb error are different and require a different eromclient.abs file?

                        Thanks Dave.

instead of trying to load firmware all the time, try doing a data dump to pc with the loader.

Yeah tried that a few times that's worked in the past!
My thinking on that as been like the memory chocker as if it has lowered it so you can flash!
Couple of weeks ago I had one where the dump file .abs was 8mb!

                              rarity

a rare f3 loader that was only on the factory site for a short time when the model 1st came out.
