So the skybox itself in network settings states it has an IP address in the format of 192.168.x.x ?

Its possible that your router is then blocking traffic.

You said you couldn't see anything listed in router settings for the skybox? Do they have names listed next to those connected (ie iphone, ipad, etc) or does it list the mac or ip address and you couldn't see anything listed against mac or ip address?

It will show the last connected ip until it gets another.

Turn the DHCP Off and stick this in. Make sure you hit apply after entering.

              IP 192.168.1.250
              Su 255.255.255.000
              Ga 192.168.1.254
              DNS 192.168.1.254
              DNS 192.168.1.254

dw190, are you thinking the dhcp isn't working on the skybox because I thought the OP stated it worked in their own house which I assume was using DHCP which has led me to think the bt home hub itself is possibly blocking it.

have you accessed the router and allowed it in the smart device set up as that blocks it until you allow the skybox on that, or just turn off smart set up in the hone hub setting then u will be good to go

If you're expecting it to list actual name then it's not likely. You need to check by mac address which you can get from the skybox.

Have you checked what mickyd has said as that's what I was thinking.

and you have checked by mac address as listed on m3 box in network settings.

Is Smart setup off as mentioned by mickyd

It will not list a name for a Skybox.

It will be something like this: If your using home plugs it should show in Ethernet connections. Your Iphone and pad will be Wireless.

                            ------IP--------------Name-----------Mac
                            192.168.1.110-------------------C4:95:A2:0B:9A:88
                            192.168.1.109--------Iphone----

The reason I said give it a static was for if the Hub doesn't like it and wont issue via DHCP

When I had a BT Hub it wouldn't issue an IP to an Openbox S6 but worked fine with a static

it dont give a name in the hub settings just mac address u can name it urself tho
so look in smart set up look for mac address that will be ur skybox and the allow access
save setting then reboot skybox ad turn on dhpc
