    SkyBox F5S Help??

Hi, I have just got a new SkyBox F5S, but having a lot of problems with it.

I can turn it on, I can scan for channels, or add a channel list ok, but when I turn it on to watch it it stick on one channel, the remote does not function at all, and after 15-20 seconds the channel will freeze completely.

If I turn it on with no LNB the box is usable (he remote works, it can change channel (obviously with no signal) and as soon as the LNB is added it does the same.

I have tried two different feeds, and the same happens, and I have tried both feeds in a regular Sky HD box and that works fine.

I have tried upgrading the firmware and there is no change.

Has anyone experienced this, or does anyone have any idea how I can solve this.

    Thanks for your help

    Update

I've managed to get it working now.

    After hours of experimenting this is what worked for me;

    1. Download the SKYBOX F4_F3_M3_LAN_TOOL from skybox.cc

    2. Download the most recent firmware for my SkyBox

    3. Extract the Lan tool into a newly created folder on my Desktop

    4. Extract the Firmware and rename it to image.abs (from its original blah blah blah.abs name). Make sure this is placed in the same folder as the Lan tool.

    5. Log in to the box from the Lan tool using its IP Address and its password (the default is 0000).

    6. Under local file list (the left hand side) expand the option "Kernel" and highlight "image.abs"

    7. Under Box File List (the right hand side) expand the Kernel option.

    8. Press the Right facing arrow between "Local File List" and "Box File List".

    9. Do nothing until the top box shows that the file has been fully installed and it confirms the box is going to restart.

    10. Wait for the Box to restart.

    11. Install your channels and any "extras".

I hope that this may help some one in the future and I'm sorry if any of this was obvious to people, but I really couldn't find any way of solving my issue, It was trial and error that I eventually carried this out.
