    Skybox help?

    Hey !

New to this so please forgive me if I ask a stupid question.

do I need a satellite to view channels on my skybox f5? Because I don't have a satellite in my house...all I have is a sky box with only the free view channels and on my roof I have an antenna for the picture quality.

    thanks in advance

If you consider this is a satellite forum you have asked the question in the easy answer = yes

Think we may have mis-interpreted your question.

Can you clarify you have a Skybox F5 and you are receiving Free To Air Channels is this correct ?

Sorry no, I have a normal standard sky tv box showing free view. I have just bought a skybox f5 waiting to be delivered. I have no satellite dish But I have an antenna on roof.

In regards to me buying and installing a satellite.... Which direction would I need it to look at?

            Thanks

You maybe better getting someone to install it for you

                I would try 28.2 East

                  I still don't understand.

If you are watching channels through a "normal standard" Sky box, then you must already have a satellite dish.

If you are using a terrestrial aerial, then it won't work with a Sky box.

Is this the box you have ????

If so you have a dish on the roof but most prob a shared one
so if you get a openbox/skybox f5 then yes it will work
but you may have a problem with the signal & need the signal boost fix

Also you need more than just the box & the channel list to get your channels

But this we cannot help with

Just spoke to a sky advisor he said to me...

'Then there is a free to air communal dish from where you get a dish input cable running into your house which enables you to view the free to air channels.'

                              would the Skybox still work??
