Skybox f3 remote control/recording query?

Hi guys, a total newbie here so sorry if this sounds daft.

I have been recording from my skybox f3 on to my seagate hard drive no problems up to press. Today when i went into the media player to try and watch a recording, I could not get in to any of them to watch. I can move the cursor up and down my list of recordings but am unable to view any of them. The stop button is highllighted in red on the screen and whatever i do can't seem to un-stick it. Do I need to get a new remote control?
If so does this then need to be tuned into my skybox specifically?

Any help/advice much appreciated.

On the tv screen does it says recording?? if not you need to format hard drive fat32!!

While the cursor is highlighting one of your recordings, what actually happens when you press the play button, or OK button? (the play button should play the recording in the window, & the OK button should play full screen).

The stop button is highlighted in red on mine as well. Don't know why.
