    Dongle or ?

Hi. I am a bit long in the tooth and new to this. Got a Skybox F5S connected with homeplugs. Might it be an improvement if I connected to my router with a dongle please? I get a few short freezes but not too bad.

Many thanks for the reply Andy. Forget the freezing thing then. Are there any plusses or minus`s with using a dongle over homeplugs?

I would stick with the homeplugs mate. The only thing I would say is plug them in direct and not into a extension gang

Thanks speed. I have not got any real probs but as I am 20 years behind the times I was just wondering about the best connection to router. Afterthought tho. My signal comes up at 90%. Is that good, poor or average?

The only other way you can improve on the home plugs....is hard wire it....a long ethernet cable.....most prob will sort the problem out your having

If the homeplugs have pairing you should pair them. Mine used to pick up the internet from next door which son lives at and uses same homeplugs as me

The other thing I have noticed with the homeplugs is that they work better when on the same fuse......ie: If you have a circuit that supplies
all of the down stairs and another that supplies upstairs then there can be a performance difference on some makes of homeplugs
when the homeplugs are placed onto two different circuits (fuses)
But in all cases try and avoid an extension lead and plug the unit straight into a socket outlet.

Yes connect to your normal Sky dish. Homeplugs save you running a wire to your router.
