Read this thread and all will be revealed if you have a Skybox F3S or F5S

It actually has everything to do with your question if you would take the time and do a little research

Once you have installed the firmware suggested above you can switch your EPG settings to XML. Your box will then download the 7day EPG for you and you can look at what is on other channels without turning the channel over

Thanks for your help but sorry for not being clear enough. I have the firmware that allows me to use XML however I cannot find any xmltv source that works

Dumb question but have you updated the EPG? The latest skybox firmware automatically points to the remote xml source for the EPG- all you need to do is update it every week (that is if you don't put the skybox in to standby where it will automatically update)

                Pretty sound advice.

The op sounds like he/she is a little confused so 5 mins reading that might calm them down a bit.

As the thread gives instructions on setting up EPG on the F3S & F5S. I would have assumed it was a very relevant answer to your very ambiguous question.

And when you have Read It leave a "Thank You" to Bigade1 for taking the time to put the instructions together to assist people like you.

On my box I went into the EPG/XML settings in the settings menu and changed the United Kingdom option to Auto Update and then pressed the red button on my remote to update the EPG. It takes about 10 minutes to update but that's it working. I never had to enter or select a source for the XML downloads

anyone notice whether the auto update actually works?I turn my box off with the TV and update manually via the red button. The old man in law leaves his on all the time with all the same settings as mine, yet I still have to go round and update it manually, even though we both have auto update on.

From my experiences, I found the auto update is hit & miss. Sometimes it updates and sometimes I have to manually do it.

Personally, its still better than the basic now & next so I can live with it.
