Want to make my box normal

I had a box sold to me cheap as the guy who had it wanted it to watch Olympics but they were not on Eurosport so he got rid of it.
It has a gift but I just want the box for the free to air stuff so I can record onto an external while still being able to watch other channels on my other receiver.
How do I make this box into a normal box without the gift or any of the other stuff that came with the gift?
And will I need to update the channel list afterwards?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

No it wont remove any gift.

Easiest way is don't connect the box to the internet. What's left on there wont make a difference to what you want it for.

that surprises me it does not remove it on a skybox as it does on the vu,removing lan will mean no epg.

What is 'said line' please? I do not have a file on there with line in it, is there any other file I can delete to achieve what I want here?

If its a free to air box leave the box as it is without the Ethernet connected. I can see where this thread is going.
