XMLTV EPG Issue F5S

Trying to update the epg through the menu on my F5S and I'm getting an error saying channel decompress failed, tried formatting my stick (32GB Sandisk), removing the .fpg file and also another generic USB pen and it's the same error, anyone got any ideas on how to resolve ?

i had that on mine a couple of times, it eventually sorted itself out and works fine again now....

Same problem here - at least its not the box or USB device.

Do you have to put it on a certain channel to update?
Does it need to be left in standby or will it update while it's on?

its hit and miss with the EPG updating, sometimes works, sometimes doesnt. I tend to find going onto the EPG page in the menu, making sure its set to "auto update", then switching skybox into standby normally kicks up the LCD display to "EPG" on the front of the box and then it updates. Ive seen it update whilst in standby mode. Also, remember to make sure the USB stick is set to FAT32 mode, there have been reports of problems with the decomression of the files while in NTFS format. Just let the box format the USB drive, works a treat.

Just tried it again and it's working fine now, must've been something on the XMLTV side

back running well 99% . just the same day on movies does not show, yet tomorrows does. weird , anyone got any clues please , thanks in advance

Im having the same issue with a lot of channels not showing any details in the EPG, especially the Movies section. Tried doing updates everyday for the past couple of days but still no joy!
Any help on how to ensure that I have a full or nearly full EPG would be greatfully accepted!

when you do the update epg the movies listings don't show until the following day leave it a day then they show

i also have issues with other channels eg: ITV and some others

ITV channels have recently changed frequencies to a new satellite and I think that's why the xml epg hasn't itself been updated to reflect the new frequencies.

I don't believe this is an issue of the box itself, more likely the xml epg provider they use who havent updated their listings for the new ITV channels.

You can always go back to just basic now & next which still works (this info is retrieved from satellite itself).
