    Openbox S10 constant reboot

S10 will work for 2mins if left off for 15mins, then start a reboot cycle, it will reboot a number of times but nothing is shown on tv. then after several reboots nothing is shown on display.
When I tried to flash via rs232 it kept disrupting the process by rebooting until I left it off for 20mins and then managed to flash with s**box firmware but has not made any difference. I have tried the box without sat feed also tried a different psu......
any other suggestions, all help is appreciated thank you.

I've put a fan above the cpu and it seems to stay on until I attach the sat feed!!!!
Could it be the tuner causing the issues?

check the coax cable both ends looks like a faulty connection make sure the outer wires not touching the inner pole check for a break in the line

the wires are absolutely fine, they work on the dm500 without any issues.

i cant tune it as it reboots, so I transferd a list across, some chanels reboot on some it stays on. If i remove the fan it starts to reboot again?
Is there a firmware that had solved a issue about rebooting?

definetly somthing to do with tuner now...
could there be a bad earth? does anyone know about these tuners?

Has it only just started doing this? If so, then changing firmware probably won't change anything.

There were heat related problems caused by the PTC polyswitch (labeled F1 on the tuner board). This caused loss of signal after the box had been on for a while.

Have a read of this thread:-

As a temporary measure you could try shorting the leads on F1. No one has reported any flames while doing this. LOL.

They may still be available on Ebay, although the seller in my link appears to have sold out.

thanks Hadron, tried that but still doing same. It wont let me tune even with the fan on. the fan is centered above the cpu.
