file mismatch on software upgrade on f5s

hi guys i downloaded the latest software for the f5s put it onto my usb drive and tried to flash the box and it got to 100% and said file mismatch i have tried other usb drives and different sofware and its still the same.

any other way i can update the software?

Have you extracted the file with Winrar before putting on USB stick.

Sorry matey answering to many noob questions I think.
Looks like you may have a clone and may have to wait for one of the other download sites to patch.

Use null modem cable get latest file and upgrade tool from here

Is box an original (as far as you know anyhow)?

Have you had it long and have you upgraded firmware before without a problem?

no idea if it is an original or not trying to update it for a friend he hasnt updated it since hes got it prob had it about a year id say

Assuming it still works (ie failed firmware upgrade hasn't caused it go into a loop or stop whilst loading) then where did you get firmware from?

Skybox.cc is original manufacturer.

Or you can try YojiaTech.com

or i'm sure someone on this forum posted a site to where you can get clone safe firmware (do a forum search). The firmware on this clone safe site was old but at least you would know whether the problem is because box is a clone or faulty box (as in won't allow any firmware upgrade).

Last resort you could try and take a chance on upgrading via null modem cable as mentioned by mjon earlier.

i got the software for everybox off skybox.cc and never had a problem till today which makes me think its a clone box im out updating a box tomorrow which i know isnt a clone so gonna try the software on that. i found a site that had clone software that worked on the box but it was the same software that was already on the box so doesnt help me if anyone has clone safe software or know where i can get it id be greatful

Don't quote me on it but i'm sure you can recover from such a thing with null cable and clone safe firmware which you have (albeit an old version).

If you can upgrade the box with clone safe firmware but not any firmware from skybox.cc then I'm inclined to agree with you that it looks more like a clone.

What is the problem the person is having that will be solved by a firmware upgrade?

I had the same problem , I backed up another F5 & then used that abs file to update the clone , it worked fine , all done via usb

its scrambled bbb_uk i know the server is fine because a friends box is on the same one and hes not had any issues plus when i go into the camds setup on the clone box it shows online but still scrambled so im thinking update the software should solve it every other box ive put in ive put the latest software on and had no issues

Nothing to do with clone or legit f5s box software are all same, I have noticed only on f5s for some reason the file gets corrupted when box switched on and you get the mismatch software when trying to download, I am working on this but I don’t have much time but will let you know how to solve it soon.
