I've set my old man up with a skybox. Some channels work fine, others not so. Certain movie channels say no signal, ...sports ok. Irish channels scrambled. He lives in a communal building. Could this be the problem? All residents sharing a dish I expect. Any advice/ideas?

If it's the channels that are vertically polarised that are showing "no signal", then you may need to search ebay for the "no signal fix".

If he is on a Communal Dish may need a signal booster.

I had a problem like this where I couldn't receive the h channels saying no signal. Not sure if it's same as your problem but ended up being a faulty lnb on the dish
