Can i just remind members that the original topic of this thread was to discuss the eventual demise of the HD channels on 28.2? east, this now appears to be going off onto another tangent which has nothing at all to do with the original Thread.

Its pretty clear that 99.9% of the HD channels have gone to the dark side so before we have another discussion on anything to do with card Sharing and Dodgy 'Cable' perhaps its time to close the thread as it appears to have run its course and completed its objectives.

Hi I dont know much about dodgy cables but for about 80 pounds you can get a receiver like the Spiderbox 6000 HD which gives you things like YOUTUBE , IPTV plus satellite channels. You dont even need a dish if you are only interested in IPTV.

Who in their right mind is going to pay more than a thousand quid for a box that will have no guarantee ie when Sky change codes how is the card going to be upgraded as you will need to provide a valid account number, address etc tc. That is the whole point of pairing the card with the box or dont you understand that. As already mentioned there are loads of HD channels available everywhere and will cost you a minimum of 80 pounds.

If you read my post again, you will see that I specify that it's a RUMOUR and how accurate rumours are!

There are a bunch of hackers who have managed to unscramble HD on sky Italia. That said the only reason the managed to unscramble Italia HD is because sky Italia introduced a staggered approach to implementing nds countermeasures, done card type by card type (as they have many card types)( note sky italia hd nano will be introduced on all cards before christmas at which point this starsat gshare solution becomes obsolete). Sky UK went with the complete supply of the white sky UK card to all customers so it allows them to provide countermeasures across the board ( based on the hardware ability of the sky box). Once sky UK supplies a countermeasure it affects everybody.

And to answer your question HD has not been cracked. HD Italia has been opened for a brief period on certain card types that have implemented basic countermeasures. Before Christmas full countermeasures will be put in place (equivalent to skyuk) which will finish sky Italia hd completely.

That said sky Italia SD will live on. While many got a fright when Italia SD went down some weeks ago, the reality was that sky really messed up. They tried to close the SD channels in Italy and it took them four days to get their paying customers back online. It will take them some time to regroup from that disaster.

They are left with the same problem no matter what country they exist in. They have legacy equipment that they must support. So chill out but know hd will never return on sky uk

I totally apologize for the aggressive nature of this post. Was just after getting home after a nightmare upgrade of our telecom infrastructure. There is so much waffle going around I just lost the plot. HD back (now that's a laugh) with our Korean hackers using gshare is utter muck. Anyone who buys a starsat box needs their head examined. Though I do understand the financial incentive for a hacker who breaks the new nds algorithm which effectively tags the incoming request from the satellite with a security code (similar to a WPA/2 passcode, but a rotating passcode) before it it passed to the card. To break the code and pass the original request to the card (as oscam, cccam etc do you need to have the exact algorithm). Now that's simply impossible unless you can read the encrypted algorithm and replicate it. So why can a HD box take an over the air update of the software that can integrate this algorithm into the box while an SD box is unable to do the same. It comes down to eeproms versus proms. For example can you get sky store on an old sky box. The answer is a big no. So the issue is the chipset in the sky box. So the reference that older sky boxes will hold up the transition is very valid. Once again apologies for inappropriate post

This is why you can't listen to anybody.. Everyone is a Master Jedi with it comes to advice on HD! It's already been cracked, they are keeping the procedure to themselves... Also there's a new card on the way out in the next 6-12 months that will need cracked before they do anything.
