AJ's channel update...

Before I start, I'm not criticising, but when I've updated my F5 with AJ's update it's Goosed! Any advice please?

Does the box start up or do you just mean you've lost channels?

Lost everything. Box starts, but don't even get freeview stuff.

I updated my F3 with AJ's list without any problem, it is very important on these boxes to delete your channels before updating, because they have a limited amount of memory.

edit, just seen your new post, try deleting any .dbs file, and re-install the new one.

I did this yesterday

when you download the file, for some reason mine had a (1) at the end, so when i updated the list, nothing happened
i renamed the file, taking the (1) off, updated again, all was good

it had a (1) on the end because you must of already downloaded a channel list previously, if you had deleted that one before downloading the new one it would of been fine

Thanks for replies chaps but it's still not working! I've deleted all channels, re-downloaded AJ's list and upgraded and it's still saying 'no channels' and won't let me even exit my menu screen. The 'thing which we do not discuss' is 'live' so I know it's not that, I've just simply got NO CHANNELS. PLEEEEEASE HELLLLP!!!

Download AJs latest chanel list this and save onto a USB stick

Now plug the stick in the F box
First of all go to the Menu Panel and into the Edit Chanel
Click on Delete All channels ( and delete)

Next go Tools
Click on Upgrade by USB
Where it says Upgrade Mode at top press sideways on the remote till you see Misc file

press start (OK button)
then highlight TP_prog/press ok it should put a green tick at the side

press the yellow button on the remote wait till the box does its thing
Once done press exit button on remote ( it should save settings)
Exit it completely and then reboot the box.(make sure you do this otherwise it will not be saved)
Hopefully all channels will be back.

How long does it take to install the channel list? Mine normally takes around 10 seconds. If it installs it in around a second or 2, then it hasn't recognised the channel list on the USB stick.

When you press the info button after installation, does it say OK, or failed, or file not found?

This has now got on for to long; you must install WinZip on your pc for the file to recognize the format, and format your usb in fat32 try and let us know.

have you put the usb stick in your PC and deleted the old list first? then copy the new one on?....thats what i do, whether it makes any difference i dont know
