Great LNB but useless on a Zone 1/2 minidish due to the feedhorn not being optimised for the official dish's elliptical design.

for official Quad LNB's not much choice these days apart from maybe Zinwell or the Visibleware brand

I am not sure which quad ive got, but its a few years old, is it worth getting an 80cm dish and better lnb, for better
operation in bad weather, will I still get problem with the two you quoted or will a filter be needed

where your located a Zone1 is adequate as long as it has been aligned correctly and not been dislodged by any recent bad weather. The LNB problem sounds like your using an official receiver on the same LNB as your open/skybox which would mean that to cure the problem you need the No Signal Fix

Im in bristol and yes Im using three more original boxes, the problem seems worse lately than a few weeks ago
i have ordered the fix so will try it when it comes, just wondered if a better lnb would give a stronger signal as
i get issues in bad weather on my hd plus and though a better lnb would be a good idea

As you are an official subscriber if your having problems with signal quality and its affecting one of your official receivers book a service call and let them sort out the Dish and LNB for free, You may have to haggle with them on the phone as no doubt they will try and stick you with the Service call fee

No all my official boxes are fine , just get vairing temperamental no signal on my skybox
just wondered if a newer lnb would do the trick and give stronger signal as a bonus
lnb is about six years old

As in Post #5 you need the No Signal Fix for the Openbox to work correctly a new lnb will not do it.
