Newbie asking for help upgrading firmware

I'v just purchased a skybox with the cam line installed already.

I need to upgrade the firmware on my skybox f5s and I have a few questions I need help with please.

1. The firmware file is a far file , do I need to change the file type people I upload it to the box?

2.After the firmware has been updated will I need to reinstall the cam line/channel list?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Why do you need to upgrade if its working?????
