    F5s Case ?

    Hi

Does any one know the best way to take the case apart on the F5 boxes looks as if the tuner has gone faulty and want to take it apart and see if I can get a replacement.

    cheers

I would be interested as well.

The last time I tried it, I broke off most of the clips.

Your thread title states F5S but your post states F5. They are 2 different boxes. If it's any help I've taken a F5S apart. You need to remove the lid which contains lugs which engage into the sides of the box. The easiest way that I found to do this was by starting from the rear using a small thin screwdriver and placing it between the lid and the side and then gently prising the side so that the side bends outwards and releases the lug. Work your way around the box, bearing in mind that the corners have cylindrical pins which go into downward slots to keep it in place. Hope this is of help. I'll try to upload some pics later.

i wouldn't waste your time...not much in them that is replaceable .. tuner assembly is mounted direct to the pcb.

I found a general table knife works quite nicely to open the case in the same manner as mentioned.

...but the cases are exactly the same.
