    XMLTV EPG not auto updating?

    Hi all,

I have an F5s box working great other than the XMLTV EPG that is set up does not auto update? I have a wired internet connection and power the box down between uses.

I have XMLTV EPG auto update switched ON in settings but it never automatically updates!

    Can anyone advise?

    thanks

You're not alone. Unfortunately, it's a known problem. You will have to check it's status and manually update it every 4 or 5 days. You can trigger the box to do it by using the menu to check the xmltv and then powering the box off into standby which should then trigger an update. You will see the words EPG flashing on the box's lcd display for approximately 5 minutes if the update process is taking place.

Thanks for that. Man that's a shame! I guess if it's a known issue then it's only a matter of time until skybox release an update to fix it?

I wouldn't hold your breath for that one.

              xmltv updating

If you have a hard drive and it updates but the listings come up with 00.00 then what i find is that I have to delete the files off the hard drive. Sometimes you can then rescan them back off the box. I personally download them again to a usb stick and transfer them to the hard drive that way. It only happens though every 2 or 3 weeks. It will then update through the box again no problems. Pain in the arse but shite without it.

I too have found this. With HDD connected sometimes EPG wont update or write back to disc after a week or two. I deleted all files off HDD apart from file containing recordings (ALSPVR) or something, then updated EPG and it all works fine again. I have noticed movie listings only tend to update overnight.
