F5s not letting me update channel list

When I go on manual update and press update. Just loads a bit then says failed.
It usually says needs updating on he XMLTV settings, now it jousts says no data!
Just turned auto update off and on again, then turned box off and the EPG came up but went straight off. Any help ?

when this happens you delete all xmltv files and re-install file and load again its corrupt file

normally a USB device issue....box is able to download onto its own internal memory but can't transfer it to the USB storage drive...so fails.

I cant even open my usb drive on my laptop, it says usb needs formatting.
tried to reformat and wont let me, it says read only.
