When you say that you have no favorite channels, do you mean that the favorite headings don't appear at all, or that they are labeled Fav1, Fav2 etc.?

If they are not labeled correctly, then you just need to do a "Factory Settings" on your box.

To get the headers to show, you need to reset your box back to Factory settings after you have installed the latest channel list (menu > tools > factory settings). A message will appear to say that it will erase the channels. Select Yes. A pop-up menu will appear with options to erase other files. DO NOT SELECT ANY OF THESE. Press the blue button on remote. Wait a few seconds for the data to be saved.

You should now have the favourites labeled correctly.

Hmm...I'n not sure if factory settings are going to help if you have no favorites at all, but it might still be worth a try.

You don't need to reload firmware if you do a "factory settings", but it's always a good idea to back up your "important" data if it's not already on your pc or memory stick.

Reading your first post again you said that you "updated channel list and searched channels". Do you mean that you did a Blind Scan in the Single satellite search menu? If so, then there's no need to do that, as all the info you need is in AJ's channel list.

Hello Hadron, I recently did a firmware update to rectify the 7 day epg problem where it was wrong by 1 hour. After I had done that and updated the latest channel list the genres in the favourites had disappeared (sports etc) and it's just listed them as numbers. Do you think it's just a a case of doing a factory reset as you explained here to get the genres back? I already have the latest channel list anyway. Cheers

Yep. Resetting to "Factory settings" will give you the proper headings back again.
