SKYBOX F5 WONT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET

Hi, Guys, I have a Skybox F5 Im trying to sort out for a friend. It just wont connect to the internet either through Eternet or Wireless.I have tried 2 different images but no luck.Even when I click no to save all settings before burning flash,It still remembers the IP adress as well as the confg. settings,I cant reset them.I have done all suggested by other threads like turning DHCP on an off , rebooting the box and router to no avail. Can someone who has a similar problem and managed to sort it please help. All suggestions appreciated.

Just an update.I have checked the cable, connection and with my own box and no problems there. Also forgot to mention as suggested in 1 of the threads,Tried connecting to Youtube and You**** but not connecting.Activated both Etrenet and wireless as connected in the network settings, and nothing. The ethernet cable light flashes when cable connected as well.

have you checked the router is picking up the skybox ? turn the skybox off , then power router off leave for 5 mins, once router is fully on again and connected to internet then power on the skybox and it should work.

if its a bt homehub log into the router as they use a smart set up u will have to give the skybox access via that or do what I did in the smart set up setting on the homehub was to turn the smart set up off then it will work

Did you leave DHCP on or off?

As southpaw says, it should be left to ON, unless you want to enter your own address for some reason.

I used the Dhcp settings from my box to see if it made any difference but cant delete these settings even after re-flashing.I would have thought the box would apply default settings when I re-flashed but wont do it.I am seeing the settings I put in.I can connect my box with these settings so i think the network module on the box is Knackered. The worst part is the seller is no longer on Ebay as its still under warranty.
