f5s box red light and number 8

hi all i was watching tv on my f5s then it frozen and would not turn over so after 15 min i powered down and when i turned it back on i got a dim red light and a dim number 8 i have changed the plugs and it is still doing it can anybody please help

Heard rumours you could flash with rs232 cable and will come alive for some, mine I played with it for 2 weeks came at a stage I binned it not woth spending time they cost pienuts.

hi got my rs232 cable now waiting for synchronizing to finish fingers crossed ps how long does it take roughly.

On F3 it took 4 min, 2min talking to box another 2 min synchronizing if all fails let us know.

could be wrong but I think you have to use windows xp to flash it {needs a genuine serial port}

Try a reflash but use this file SB.abs dated 10/05/2013 and no bootloader.Also not advisible to use usb via laptop, better to use desktop with compatible com port for null cable.
