clone or not ??

Hello all

couple of quick questions really

ive been using my f5s for a few months now updated via aj list a few times with no issues .

now ive got the boxnation fault (no pic but sound)
seems an upgrade of the firmware is required
so
how do i know if my box is a clone or not ?? ( dont want to brick it id rather just do without boxnation if its a clone)
if i dont have a clone when i upgrade do i have to wipe out the old firmware first???
factory default ???
ive read the instuctions but im a little unclear .

also im hoping the firmware upgrade will sort out a niggle ive got with the screen scrammbeling every 10 seconds or so .

again ive done my own research but cant quite put my finger on what the fault is .
im leaning towards my router/internet speed not quite up to it .
ive got a zyxel router with a hardwired connection from the sky f5 to the router .
anyone recommend how i go about narrowing the fault down ??

When you boot the box, does it say skybox.cc in the bottom right of the boot screen?

Does the retail box have a QR code on it? If so, have you tried scanning it with a smart phone to see if it directs you to skybox.cc?
