HD CHANNELS AND SD CHANNELS GOING OR NOT ?

Hi guys ive just bought a skybox m5 and i am still a customer with sky and have just been reading the forum that all hd channels are going does that mean all sd channels are going aswell should i not bother buying another 3 more m5 skyboxes as i was planning on getting rid of sky ?

All The HD channels acquired by Illegal means are going for certain All premium Movies and Sports that belong to Sly have already Gone expect the rest to go before August or earlier.

As for SD who knows maybe a Fortune Teller

ive also read that there changing HD channels from mpeg4 to mpeg5 dont the boxes support mpeg5 ?

there is no MPEG5 only MPEG4 i think what you mean is H.265 which is the proprietary codec for UHD 4K compression broadcasts.

Nothing to be concerned about all you need to know is at present there is 'NO FIX' for what is happening now

As long as tge boxes still work with sd thats fine if they stopped working is it a matter of updating the servers or the boxes

They have to 'Fix' the problem first and seeing that this encryption method has been used by $ky Italia for about a year now there isn't a 'Fix' available yet for that sat system yet. There is rumors of a working 'Fix' been available in Jordan/Turkey but apparently is very expensive to get hold of.

Enjoy SD until $ky think it is cost effective to switch all channels over, then perhaps invest in a motorised system or cable.
