better picture in SD

Just messing around with settings and have come to the conclusion that changing settings to 576i makes sd a lot better looking on the big screen TV. Anyone else made any other tweaks?

I have this theory, mad as it sounds SKY made the SD quality worst to entice people to HD. I am convinced SD wasnt as bad as it is today before HD was released. Or Maybe my eyes are shot
The picture quality on Digital TV is better than SD on sky imo

They originally had SD channels on 720x576i with quite a high bitrate, Since the launch of HD and the amount of channels this has now become 544x576i and a horribly low bitrate an excellent marketing ploy to get its customer base to upgrade to HD.

28.2? east is one of the worst satellites for channel quality in SD other companys such as NC+,Italia,Germany even some on 7.0? west put the quality of the SD channels on $ly to shame

Ok what i have done now is changed the video out setting from YUV to RGB and the picture is now excellent a lot smoother all fuzz has gone

Good for SD, but when you flip to a HD channel picture is crap and not in high definition.

there is not many hd channels left! only good for the remaining free ones such as itv and bbc etc.

Think i'll try this when a few more hd channels go so i won't feel the need to keep changing it.

i think for a sort of 'mainstream' channel motors tv picture quality is terrible

Hardly any left so you may as well do it now. Only wish I'd thought of it during last season when watching 3pm....
