    BBC One signal

Realised during the world cup my bbc signal is dodgy...applies to all the various BBC 1 HD channels.
Its like 95% watchable, but occasionally skips every 30secs or so. Never noticed until now, watching the WC.

mY DISH IS like over 10yrs old and i have never had a signal problem, and even know there is no signal problem on any other channel, be it a FTA or whatever. everything else is fine, except the various BBC 1 HD channels.

can it be a problem with the wire itself? (needs cutting and sorting out? as it is very dodgy looking and old) or is it likely to be a dish issue?

    Thanks

It could be the dish alignment, but if the cable is old the first thing I would try is cutting a couple of inches off the cable at the dish and re-making the connection as the copper in the cable can oxidise and reduce your signal.
If that doesnt fix it it the next step would be alignment, then start replacing stuff, the LNB, cable, may even be the box, my Humax box breaks up on BBC HD, butmy Skybox and Vu+ are perfect on the same cables.

many thanks fatbob, im going to to cut the end of my cable off and re-wire the coaxial using a new connector of course. Then see where it goes from there.
