    EE fibre broadband and openbox

    Hi guys,

just had EE fibre broadband activated today and it appears that I have lost my channels on the openbox. Any thoughts on a fix?

Check the DHCP status on the receiver if you changed from a different broadband provider then your IP details will have changed

      Thanks m8.

I have gone into my router settings and noted that the IP address was different to the one on the openbox.

I changed the openbox one to reflect the one on the router and saved the new IP address on the openbox.

Is this correct or am I supposed to change the one on the router to reflect the one on the openbox?

      thanks

Hi make sure you have DHCP set to on on your Skybox and save your settings.

Power the Skybox off at the mains wait a couple of mins power back on it should then be allocated a new IP Address from your new router.

          Hi,

I have changed the IP address on the openbox to the one list on my router and saved my settings. Btw the dhcp is on.

I have powered down the box and restarted it, and gone back into settings and the original IP address has returned??

They do have a habit of doing this sometimes i found that turning DHCP to 'Off' and then switching the box into standby followed by turning back on and switching DHCP to 'On' followed by another reboot solved the problem

Hi, I, tried your suggestion and it didn't work.

i do remember when my previous broadband provider upgraded my router my raspberry pi did the same thing. I managed to find a fix by adjusting the port forwarding. Do you think this could be causing the issue?

No port forwarding needed for the openbox it should work via DHCP my suggestion above is only if the receiver has retained the previous non working ip address anything else could be down to the router

                  Thanks.
I think what I will do is set up the box on a friends router and see what's happens.

Thanks for the help once again.
