Pausing and rewinding live tv on F5S not working?

hi, i have a F5S and a 500gb harddrive plugged in to it, when i first got it it used to pause and rewind live tv but recently it only pauses the tv picture and the audio continues...it freezes the picture and doesnt rewind? i have upgraded to the latest firmware but it still happens? is there a fix for this? my passport HDD is just NTFS formatted which used to work....would FAT32 make a difference? (i doubt it but dont know enough!)
    thanks for any suggestions/fixes!

Same happened to me when I didn't have storage connected. I would suggest going into PVR settings and making sure it is set up properly there. Not sure what else.

go into settings and make sure your hdd is visible.....if it is formatt hdd with box not laptop as laptop will only formatt 32gig of hdd in fat 32

box will format all 500gig of hdd as fat ...this will stop this happening in the future too

BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR HDD FIRST!!!! you have been warned

as im a newbie as you can see where do i find if the hdd is visable? i presume from there it will be an easy option to format it??

thats interesting to know about how much it will format! i presumed it would format the lot no matter where it was done!?

          thanks for the help!!

If you keep it NTFS you shouldn't have any problems as fat has 4GB limitations. Make sure in pvr settings you set hdd for timeshift & record, there's also another setting for timeshift on under another heading.

cheers mate! ive looked at pvr and it is set for timeshift and record 30mins....do you know where else to check?

its weird as the picture freezes but audio continues but then can not rewind or fast forward....

go into menu then to mutimedia if all 4 icons are highlighted then hdd is visible go into pvr storage and make sure u only have 1 drive if not connect to laptop and remove drives till u have 1
then go back into pvr storage and press yellow FORMAT choose fat not NTFS this will formatt your ENTIRE 500gig hdd (and not just 32g or 4 gig ) to fat as it has mine now i can update my box via my hdd instead of using a fat32 pendrive it also records, timeshifts 30 mins and stores an aray of movies to watch in media player

                hope this helps
